Charges in death filed against Seattle man

Misdemeanor vehicular-manslaughter charges have been filed against a Seattle man whose vehicle crashed a year ago in Idaho, killing a Seattle teenager.

David Folkins Jr., 15, of Seattle, was killed and several others were injured on July 30, 1999, when the car driven by Joseph Falk, 44, of Seattle collided with an oncoming pickup and swerved off Highway 95 in Canyon County, near Caldwell in southwest Idaho.

Falk's inattentive driving led to the crash, according to Shari Dodge, deputy prosecutor for Canyon County.

Scott Fouser, a Caldwell attorney who represents Falk, said Falk was not at fault. "It was just an accident," he said.
