NEVER AGAIN: Pearl Jam band members voluntarily met with representatives of Danish police last week in an effort to understand the circumstances that led to the deaths of nine young men during the band's set at Denmark's Roskilde Festival in June. In two days of meetings, members of Pearl Jam and its management team relayed their accounts of what happened. The Danish police accepted an invitation from the band's security team to observe Pearl Jam's concert last week in West Palm Beach, Fla. Pearl Jam also offered to have its security team go to Denmark to consult with Roskilde Festival authorities regarding possible steps festival security could take to help ensure the safety of their concertgoers, according to a statement released by the band. The full text of the statement is available online at www.sonymusic .com/artists/PearlJam/rumorpit. Meanwhile, recordings made of each of the concerts on the European tour (except Roskilde) will be released Sept. 5 via Pearl Jam's Web site, www.tenclub.net. The two-CD sets will go on sale at retail outlets at a later date.
