Eagle River CFO retires to spend time with family

Eagle River, the investment-management company controlled by cellular pioneer Craig McCaw, said Chief Financial Officer William Hoglund retired to spend more time with his family.

Hoglund, 46, was Eagle River's CFO for five years, spokesman Bob Ratliffe said. For 18 years before that, he was a banker at J.P. Morgan & Co., working with Eagle River and the McCaw family of companies, which includes Nextel Communications and Nextlink Communications, Ratliffe said.

Eagle River hasn't found a replacement yet. Hoglund also stepped down from the boards of Nextel and Nextlink effective yesterday, Eagle River said.
