We're Pearl Jammin': The final itinerary for Pearl Jam's upcoming tour has been announced. Added is a new opening date, next Wednesday at the Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham. The show is already sold out. The Thursday show at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, B.C., is now second on the list. Tickets are available through a radio giveaway only, through Vancouver station CFOX-FM (check out www.cfox.com for details). After that, the band tours Europe, with the American tour resuming Aug. 3 in Virginia Beach, Va. Dropped from the tour list are Portland, Ore., and Austin, Texas, "due to circumstances beyond our control." The Seattle show is set for Nov. 5 at a site to be announced. Tickets for the next-to-last show, Nov. 3 in Boise, go on sale there May 13. No on-sale date for Seattle has been announced. Sonic Youth will open the first leg, which runs through Sept. 5. Supergrass will open the second, including the Seattle date. In further Pearl Jam news, Dave Krusen, the original drummer, is now in Unified Theory, a band formed by former Blind Melon band-members Chris Shinn and Christopher Thorn. Unified Theory will release its debut album Aug 15.
Not being modest: Modest Mouse, the Issaquah band recently signed to Epic Records, will release its first album for the label June 13. It's titled "The Moon & Antarctica." The trio previously recorded for Up, Sub Pop and K Records. The band will feature songs from the album in shows at 9 p.m. June 16 and 7 p.m. June 17
