Outlook - Russell, a first-team third baseman as a junior, moves to catcher. Jack is the top returning power threat after driving in 15 runs as a junior. Cougars were hitless in league opener against Juanita.
Eastlake Wolves

Last season - 13-5 league, 18-7 overall, reached regional playoffs.
Returning starters - 1B Steve Ramsey, sr.; 3B Shaun Parthemer, sr.; 2B Kelby Olson, sr.; CF T. Montgomery, sr.; C Brian Waterfield, sr.; DH Kyle Larsen, jr.; RHP Bert Vigeland, sr.
Other returners - RHP Blake Hawksworth, jr.
Key newcomers - SS Adam Hicks, so.; RHP Jon Calmes, jr.
Outlook - Eastlake lost its RBI leaders - Matt Berry and Chad Coder - but with Ramsey and Parthemer back, Wolves won't lack power. Ramsey signed baseball scholarship with Washington. Montgomery signed with Hawaii. Wolves' one concern is pitching depth.

Returning starters - C Simon Hirsch, sr.; 3B Andrew Block, jr.
Other returners - SS A.J. Diers, jr.; 2B/OF Brian Lee, jr.; OF Terrance Moore, sr.; OF Gordon Lightfoot, sr.; OF Robert Whitfield, sr.
Impact newcomers - Util. Greg Thompson, jr.
Outlook - Franklin will have a solid defense, but Moody said lack of depth is a concern. Quakers have only 30 players in program. Pitching remains a huge question.

Outlook - Two games into league schedule, Garfield accomplished something it hadn't for two seasons: beat an Eastside team. Mines is all-league candidate as middle infielder and Yaffee is top returning pitcher. Brian Parker was strong in relief when Garfield ended a 17-game conference losing streak by defeating Inglemoor, last year's conference co-champ.
Inglemoor Vikings
Coach - Craig Bishop, second season.
Last season - 14-4 league, 17-6 overall, lost to Eastlake in winner-to-state game.

Outlook - Loss to Garfield was wake-up call for team that returns a great deal of talent, but was hurt by graduation. Inglemoor returns four who batted better than .300, led by Pritchett, who hit .341. Schidleman had three homers last season and is one of the team's top returning pitchers. Dailey was 2-0 in league games last season, including a no-hitter.

Outlook - Last year's KingCo 4A co-champions, Rebels had league's top three RBI leaders last season, and they graduated. But Juanita scored 28 runs in its first two games. McRae hit .490 as a junior and threw a no-hitter in league opener.

Key newcomers - IF Mike Weaver, jr.; P/IF Dan Gillison, jr.; OF Craig Partridge, sr.; C Nick Hundley, so.; P Eric Asen, sr.; OF Teru Olsen, jr.
Outlook - Conover, who accepted a UW baseball scholarship, is top returner to a lineup that packs a punch at the top. He batted .455 with 17 RBI last year. Chambers said pitching depth will be a strength.
Redmond Mustangs
Coach - Ray Cassidy, ninth season.
Last season - 13-5 league, 16-7 overall, reached league playoffs.

Key newcomers - RHP T.J. Anderson, jr.; RHP Joel Evans, jr.; SS Nick Gunn, jr.; 2B Brian Shepard, jr.
Outlook - Sisco is top pitcher in league. The 6-9 left-hander was 3-0 as a sophomore and was selected to USA Baseball under-16 national team. He struck out 12 in four innings against Woodinville this season. Mustangs have hitters to complement him with four who hit .390 or better last season.
Roosevelt Roughriders
Coach - John Mitchell, seventh season.
Last season - 4-14 league, 4-16 overall.

Key newcomers - IF/P Josh Zimmerman, so.; IF/OF Lane Himmelman, so.; C Kyle Suzuki, so.
Outlook - Granston batted .344 last season. He, Zimmerman and Verdieck are the team's top players. Defense will be a strength this season, but Roughriders are inexperienced at key positions.p
Woodinville Falcons
Coach - Terry Agnew, eighth season.
Last season - 12-6 league, 15-10 overall, reached league playoffs.
Returning starters - IF Jeff Culpepper, sr.; P Brett Butler, sr.; P Brian Carter, sr.; P/O Zach Tuiasosopo, sr.; P Quenton Flores, jr.; DH/1B Mike Wagner, sr.; OF Max Hoefer, sr.
Other returners - IF Brian Bauer, jr.; C Steve Sabouril, jr.
Key newcomers - C/P Aaron Hepner, jr.; OF Zach Woodward, jr.; IF Kevin Agnew, so.; OF/P Joel Monroe, so.; IF Kyle Sutter, jr.
Outlook - Falcons have three future Huskies on the roster. Wagner, Carter and Tuiasosopo are all signed to UW scholarships. Woodinville has a well-tailored lineup and experienced pitchers. Culpepper hit .327 last season and scored 20 runs; Hoefer batted .360 and scored 15. Tuiasosopo and Wagner are the lineup's power core, but team's biggest strength is diversity of starters.
