Lynnwood's AA Rentals sold to Hertz Equipment Rental

BELLEVUE - Lynnwood-based AA Rentals, a chain of 21 independently owned and operated equipment-rental and -sales stores in the Puget Sound region, was recently acquired by Hertz Equipment Rental, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hertz Corp.

Terms weren't disclosed. AA Rental's revenue for the fiscal year ended Oct. 31 was $25 million.

Mark Jaeger, former president of AA Rentals, said he and Kevin Ushler will work as area managers for the new Hertz/AA Rentals. AA rents light equipment such as lawn mowers and cement mixers, while Hertz rents out heavy equipment. Jaeger said the five Hertz locations in the region eventually also will rent out light equipment. Hertz/AA Rentals employs more than 300.
