Football

Two players from Bethel High School and two from Kennedy have been named to the West roster for the East-West 3A-4A football game for graduated seniors June 30 at Joe Albi Stadium in Spokane.

Scott Burcar and Javid Shoemaker of Bethel and Latrel Williams and Michael Augustyn of Kennedy will try to help the West team end a seven-game losing streak in the series. The East won won 6-3 in Everett last June over a West team that included ex-Kennedy running back Paul Arnold, now at the University of Washington.

The West roster also includes Martese Henderson, Spanaway Lake; Cesar Valencia, Evergreen (White Center); Tim Galloway, Auburn; Matt Lingley, Rogers (Puyallup); Grant Rondeau, Kentlake; Mike Karney, Kentwood; Brett Priest, Sumner; Zach Norling, Kentridge; and Saul Kanongata'n, Highline.

Mike Merrill of Auburn Riverside and Bob Bourgette of Kennedy will be assistant coaches for the West.

The East roster includes Joe Sprouse of White River and Chris Barry of Franklin Pierce.
