Boys basketball
Alvin Snow of Franklin and Eddie Lincoln of O'Dea have been named Class 4A and 3A high-school boys basketball players of the year by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association.
Snow led Franklin to the KingCo 4A Conference championship and a sixth-place finish at state. Lincoln led O'Dea to fourth place at the 3A state tournament. Snow and Lincoln will be teammates next season at Eastern Washington University.
The coaches' association named Luke Ridnour of Blaine the 2A player of the year, Casey Frandsen of Toutle Lake the 1A player and Jeremy Groth of Curlew the Class B honoree. The coaches' awards are for seniors who have completed their eligibility.
Oregon-bound Ridnour was named the state's Mr. Basketball.
All five players will participate in the annual City vs. State all-star games July 8 at the SunDome in Yakima. Team rosters:
