Arne Bystrom to speak at AIA Home of the Year event
Award-winning architect Arne Bystrom is the featured speaker for the upcoming Seattle Times/American Institute of Architects Home of the Year event, Feb. 25 at the University of Washington's Kane Hall.
Bystrom, a Seattle native of Scandinavian heritage, is best known for his residential design, which incorporates natural materials and the ruggedness of the Northwest environment.
Bystrom will show his own work as part of his featured address, "At Home in the Future," then join other design and building professionals in a discussion of Northwest residential design.
Ten homes were opened for public tour as part of the 1999 Seattle Times/AIA Home of the Month program. The 1999 Home of the Year winner will be announced at the end of the presentation.
