Man, 27, is charged with bank robbery
Federal bank-robbery charges have been filed against a Lynnwood man suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Martha Lake and hiding from authorities at Boeing's jetliner plant in Everett.
Kenneth D. Moody, 27, was charged with bank robbery in U.S. District Court in Seattle on Thursday.
He faces 20 years in prison and a $20,000 fine if convicted.
He is under investigation for the more serious charge of armed bank robbery, which would carry an additional five years in prison. FBI agents are trying to determine if he used a gun in Monday's robbery, said Robb London, assistant U.S. attorney.
"It's alleged by a bank teller that he pointed a weapon at her," London said.
Authorities have not disclosed what amount was taken in the robbery.
Moody will likely face additional charges in Snohomish County Superior Court for felony eluding and car theft, county prosecutors said.
Authorities think Moody is the man who holed up early Tuesday morning at Boeing's 98-acre assembly building and caused a 10-hour production shutdown.
