Tom Hanks' Son Colin Is Featured In `Roswell'
Q: I heard that the boy who plays Alex on the The WB TV show "Roswell" is the son of Tom Hanks. True?
A: True. Colin Hanks, 22, started out with a walk-on role as a page in dad Tom's "That Thing You Do." Now he's part of the ensemble cast of "Roswell," the freshman fantasy series about teenage aliens in Roswell, N.M. Colin is the son of Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and his first wife Samantha Lewes.
Q: Before Ernie, there were three sons on "My Three Sons." What was the name of the oldest son who left for school?
A: Tim Considine (also Spin of "Spin and Marty" fame) played Mike, oldest of the Douglas brothers on the 1960s hit "My Three Sons." After he outgrew his successful years as a juvenile actor, he went behind the camera as a TV writer and director. Currently, he's into sports photography and auto racing. Last year, he wrote a history of U.S. Grand Prix drivers titled "American Grand Prix Racing."
Q: Many years ago Rod Serling wrote his version of "A Christmas Carol." I saw it only once and never forgot it. I was sure it was going to become a Christmas classic and it never did. If it's available, I would love to purchase it on tape.
A: Serling's "Carol for Another Christmas" debuted on ABC in 1964. The Cold War version of the Charles Dickens' classic starred Sterling Hayden as Grudge and Peter Fonda as Morley. The production is not available on video.
Q: I look forward to seeing "Once and Again." I would like to know when and where it will be on.
A: The ABC drama returns to the ABC schedule beginning Monday. Look for new episodes of the Sela Ward-Billy Campbell series on future Mondays.
