Lakewood shootings leave three dead
LAKEWOOD, Pierce County - Investigators said they have no suspects in two shootings that left three people dead in Lakewood.
The bodies of Justin Littleton, 19, and William Pugh, 16, were found early yesterday morning along a trail at the Hidden Lake Apartments, said Deputy Ed Troyer, Pierce County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
Both had been shot several times, Troyer said. No weapon was found at the scene.
A manager at the 144-unit apartment complex today said neither of the youths lived in the complex, nor were they known to be visiting anyone there.
"A lot of kids use that path as a shortcut from the high school (Clover Park) over to Bridgeport Way," said the manager, who did not want to be identified.
The manager, who said she often asks teenagers not to trespass, believes she had seen Littleton on the path before.
She said that many residents were awakened by the noise of five gunshots, but that none saw the shooting.
Also being investigated is the shooting death of Rodney Klum, who was in his 30s. Klum was shot about 8 p.m. Saturday in his apartment in the 5600 block of Boston Avenue.
Troyer said Klum was killed after an argument nearby, and that police found methamphetamine-making materials in his apartment.
