Amy Brenneman Played Officer Licalsi On `NYPD'
Q: Please tell me whom Amy Brenneman, of the new TV series "Judging Amy," portrayed in the TV series "NYPD Blue."
A: She played Officer Janice Licalsi on the show during its first season (1993-94). Now she's executive producer and star of the top new drama series. Brenneman's inspiration for "Judging Amy" was her own mother, a retired juvenile court judge. Starting Jan. 11, Brenneman will face competition from her old ABC series, which will air opposite "Judging Amy" on CBS.
Q: I missed the Dec. 14 episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Hush." Is there any way that I can see it on TV?
A: The WB has not scheduled a rebroadcast date for "Hush." But it is likely to repeat in the spring or summer. The unique episode, from "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon, featured very little dialogue as the citizens of Sunnydale are silenced by evil beings.
Q: Is the series "Poirot" still being filmed? Can you tell me about the man who plays Poirot?
A: After a five-year hiatus, David Suchet returns in the role of Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie's Belgian sleuth, in "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd," Feb. 13 on A&E. The veteran actor, 52, is probably best known for his work on the London stage and in the BBC/PBS series "Poirot." He has acted in several American projects, including "A Perfect Murder," "Executive Decision," "Wingstar Commander" and "RKO 281" (as Louis B. Mayer). Currently, he is starring on Broadway as Antonio Salieri in "Amadeus."
