B.F. Goodrich Purchases Boeing Ejection-Seat Unit
B.F. Goodrich, the No. 1 U.S. maker of aircraft landing gear, said it bought Boeing's ejection-seat business to broaden its range of safety-related aerospace products.
Terms weren't disclosed. Seattle-based Boeing manufactured the ejection seats in Titusville, Fla., where it employed 25 workers. Goodrich will make the seats in Phoenix and in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The ACES II ejection seats are used in the F-15 and F-16 fighter jets and other aircraft, Goodrich said. About 7,000 have been produced for the U.S. Air Force and foreign military customers. The U.S. Air Force's new F-22 aircraft will use the seat.
