Expeditors International Names Alger President

SEATTLE - Glenn Alger has been apointed president of Expeditors International of Washington, effective immediately.

Alger, who has been the company's executive vice president for North America, fills the vacancy created with the May retirement of Kevin Walsh, one of the company's founders.

Alger began his career with Expeditors, a global logistics company, in July 1981 when he and Peter Rose, now chairman and chief executive officer, opened the San Francisco office for Expeditors.

Alger held several positions and moved to the corporate office in 1992 as a senior vice president. He had held his most recent post since 1997.
