New Park-And-Ride Lot Opens In Mill Creek
Lights! Cameras! Transit!
South Snohomish County's new $4.3 million park-and-ride lot is now open.
The 1,000-car lot, at Ash Way and 164th Street Southwest just west of Interstate 5, is the largest of its kind in the state. The lot features 40 outdoor lights and 30 video surveillance cameras for safety. In addition, there are two Community Transit (CT) bus shelters with bike lockers and concrete motorcycle parking stalls.
More than a half-dozen CT buses will leave the lot each morning for Seattle and return in the afternoon. Several Sound Transit routes will begin making stops this autumn.
The new park-and-ride lot was funded by Boeing, the state Department of Transportation, Sound Transit, the Washington Transportation Improvement Board and the Federal Highway
Administration.
