U.S. Timberlands Yakima Buys Land From Boise Cascade

NEW YORK - U.S. Timberlands said today its affiliate, U.S. Timberlands Yakima, will buy 56,000 acres of timberland in Central Washington for about $60 million from Boise Cascade.

The transaction, which is subject to approval, will add about 480 million board feet of "prime merchantable timber" to the company's portfolio, said Chief Executive Officer John Rudey. U.S. Timberlands currently owns 2.1 billion board feet in Oregon, east of the Cascade Mountains.
