All-Star Games -- Nine From Wesco Picked For State Baseball Series
Nine players from the Western Conference have been selected to play in the all-state baseball series this weekend.
Five from WesCo 3A and four from WesCo 4A were picked by a committee of coaches for the games Saturday and Sunday at Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee.
Outfielders Kegan O'Toole and Cole Craig of Jackson were named to the 3A/2A/1A Americans team. Catcher Beau Blacken and shortstop Hal Bisnett of Lake Stevens and outfielder Tyler Davidson of Meadowdale were placed on the 3A/2A/1A Nationals team.
Two Snohomish players were named to the 4A/B rosters - on opposite teams. Catcher Andrew Reifers will play for the 4A/B Americans; second baseman Eric Rodland will play for the 4A/B Nationals.
Also on the 4A/B Nationals team are pitcher Jason Foote of Kamiak, outfielder Tony Auckland of Cascade and shortstop Kris Bilolmaier of Woodinville in the KingCo Conference.
The 4A/B Nationals play the 3A/2A/1A Nationals at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the contest between the 4A/B Americans and 3A/2A/1A Americans at 3:30 p.m. The losers play Sunday at 10:30 a.m.; the winners meet Sunday at 1:30 p.m. All are 8-inning games.
The top players from the series will be selected to play in the Washington-Oregon all-star game the following Saturday, June 19, at Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver.

Northwest shootout
Kellie O'Neill of Meadowdale is among the players selected for the Washington team that will play a team of Oregon all-stars in the Northwest Shootout on Friday, June 25, at the Chiles Center on the University of Portland campus.
The girls game is set for 6 p.m. The boys game will follow at 8 p.m.
Zlatko Savovic of Everett is among 11 players named to the Washington boys roster.

Rosters aren't finalized yet, but Slatko Savovic of Everett, Nate Collord of Jackson, Mark Campbell of Mount Vernon and Drew Langstraat of Lynden are expected to play in the Class 3A all-state boys basketball game Saturday, July 10, at the Yakima SunDome. Ross Benson of Cascade and Jay Smith of Sehome are expected to play in the 4A game, and Chris Morrow and Joe Tountas of King's are expected to play in the 1A game.
The girls all-state games are set for Saturday, July 17, at St. Martin's College in Lacey. Girls rosters aren't finalized.
