Teen Charged With Sister's Murder
YAKIMA - A teen originally charged with manslaughter in the death of his sister in what he described as a game of Russian roulette has now been charged with murder.
Joshua Seth Romero, 16, was charged yesterday with second-degree felony murder in the death of 15-year-old Jeselle Romero.
Joshua Romero was initially charged with first-degree manslaughter in the Feb. 26 shooting.
Prosecutor Jeff Sullivan yesterday declined to discuss the new charge, but said it now appears the girl's hand was not on the pistol when it was fired into her face, as earlier believed.
The trial is to begin Tuesday in Yakima County Superior Court. Second-degree felony murder carries a maximum life sentence.
