Fire Destroys Former Snoqualmie Winery

SNOQUALMIE - A picturesque former winery was devoured by flames yesterday after enjoying a two-year second life as a wedding and banquet hall.

No one was injured in the fire at the Snoqualmie Winery. Investigators have not determined a cause.

The fire was discovered yesterday morning by Jim Aker, who owns the building with his wife. He said he found it in flames after coming there to provide a tour for a bride.

Firefighters were hampered by low water supply because only one hydrant was near the rural building, said Snoqualmie Fire Department Deputy Chief Bob Rowe.
