Accident Injures Lake Stevens Player

LAKE STEVENS - Tonight's Western 3A Conference North Division girls basketball game between the Lake Stevens Vikings and Stanwood has been postponed, Viking Coach Steve Berg said last night.

The game, which hasn't been rescheduled, was postponed after Viking senior Lacey Williams was involved in a car accident last Wednesday. Williams, 17, suffered a severe head injury and has been in a coma at Harborview Medical Center since her car was rear-ended by a pickup on Highway 9 north of Lake Stevens a week ago.

Last Friday's game against Everett also was postponed. It tentatively is scheduled for next Monday. Berg said the Vikings will resume their game schedule Friday when they play host to Monroe.
