Alexis Fields Is Member Of Fields Acting Clan
Q: I notice the actress who plays Tia and Tamera Mowry's friend on the sitcom "Sister, Sister" is named Alexis Fields. Is she part of the Fields clan that includes actresses Chip Fields and Kim Fields (recently of "Living Single")? My friend tells me there may even be another sister who had a recurring role on the sitcom "Roc." Is she right?
A: Alexis Fields (Diavion on "Sister, Sister") is the younger sister of Kim Fields, who played Tootie on "The Facts of Life" and Regine on "Living Single." Chip Fields, who appeared on "Days of Our Lives" from 1978-79, is their mother. Alexis' credits also include "The Secret World of Alex Mack" on Nickelodeon and "Roc," as young Sheila Hendricks.
Q: I'm a fan of "Loveline" on MTV. Please give me some info on Dr. Drew.
A: Dr. Drew Pinsky is a board-certified internist and specialist dealing with addiction who serves as the medical director for the department of chemical dependency services at Los Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, Calif. He's hosted the "Loveline" radio show for 14 years, doling out advice on matters of the heart to call-in listeners. He co-hosts the MTV version of the call-in show with comic Adam Carolla and nightly celebrity guests. The two have co-authored a book, "The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love." When he's not broadcasting, Dr. Drew spends time with his wife and their toddler triplets and sings opera.
Q: How many actors have played Griffin on "Party of Five?" My friend doesn't believe that in the very early episodes (right after Bailey's girlfriend Jill died and when Julia is first getting to know him) someone other than Jeremy London played Griffin.
A: Jeremy London joined "Party of Five" in the fall of 1995 as the first and only Griffin Holbrook. Julia (Neve Campbell) had another boyfriend, though, during the first season of the show, Justin (played by Michael Goorjian). Jeremy London and his twin brother, Jason, grew up in DeSoto, Texas, just south of Dallas, and have appeared in numerous TV shows and feature films including "I'll Fly Away," now in reruns on the Pax network.
Q: I have been watching the "Donny & Marie Show." It is wonderful and a big success, as I see it. Where can I write to tell them what a great show they have?
A: Drop them a line at Donny & Marie, Sony Pictures Studios, 10201 W. Washington Blvd., Stage 25, Culver City, Calif. 90232. The show has just been renewed for a second season.
Q: A friend and I have an ongoing argument regarding "The Beverly Hillbillies" television show, which aired from 1962 to 1971. Prior to striking it rich, where did the hillbillies live?
A: They were from Bug Tussle, a fictional backwoods hamlet in the Ozarks. It must have been close to Hooterville of "Petticoat Junction" fame, because the Clampetts once traveled there to visit the folks back home. ------------------------------- Send your questions about TV to: TV Week, The Dallas Morning News, Communications Center, P.O.
