B.C. Hiker Is Killed By Grizzly Bear
PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - A Prince George hiker was killed by a grizzly bear over the weekend, police said.
The body of George Evanoff, 65, was found yesterday by a search helicopter a short distance from his cabin. He apparently had stumbled upon the bear shortly after it killed a moose. "The grizzly bear will defend their kill," said Evanoff's long-time friend Dave King.
A grizzly bear was spotted nearby. It was not known if the bear would be destroyed.
