Police Kill Oregon Man

LA GRANDE, Ore. - A man who allegedly threatened officers with a knife was shot and killed by police at his family's home.

Daniel J. Ogburn, 46, was stabbing himself in the chest when officers arrived at the home Monday night, according to the Union County District Attorney Russell West.

Ogburn was shot after he chased two officers out of the house with the knife and then attacked one officer, West said.

Ogburn was under indictment on numerous counts of domestic violence and sex abuse and was under court order to stay away from the family.

West said he expects an investigation to take up to two weeks.
