Teenager Will Be Tried As Adult

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - A teenager accused of killing her mother and brother with a hatchet and then setting fire to their home last spring will be tried as an adult, a judge has ruled.

Jessica Tibbetts, 15, faces murder and arson charges in the April 27 slayings of Bennie Jo Tibbetts, 43, and Billy Ray Tower, 17. Also charged in the killings is Jessica Tibbetts' boyfriend, Raymond Eddings, 24.

The charred bodies of the victims were found in the rubble of their single-wide trailer near Sand Creek, about 50 miles north of Klamath Falls. Autopsies revealed the victims were assaulted with a hatchet before being burned beyond recognition.
