Teens' Conditions Improve
SEATTLE - The conditions of two teenagers injured in a fatal traffic accident Friday were upgraded to satisfactory yesterday, a Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman said.
Wesley Barrett and Paul West, both 17 and from Sequim, Clallam County, were airlifted to Harborview after the accident in Sequim that left two dead.
Patrick Gooch, 22, and Mari Jung, 16, both from Sequim, died after the pickup they were riding in with eight other young people plunged off a cliff near Johnson Creek, the Clallam County Sheriff's Office said.
The truck failed to negotiate a turn going down a steep grade and went over a 50-foot embankment.
The others in the truck, four boys and two girls, all from Sequim and ranging in age from 16 to 18, were not seriously hurt.
