Seattle Times Staffers Honored With Awards By Journalism Society
The Seattle Times captured eight first-place awards in the Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Journalism Contest for 1997.
The awards, presented yesterday, honored newspapers, television and radio stations in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana.
In addition to the first-place awards, Times staffers won 10 second-place and eight third-place awards. The newspaper also earned nine honorable-mention awards.
