Tukwila Construction Firm Segale Sold To Oldcastle
TUKWILA - M.A. Segale, one of the state's largest aggregate, asphalt and heavy construction companies, is being sold to Oldcastle.
The purchase became official yesterday. A price was not disclosed.
Oldcastle is the North American subsidiary of Ireland-based CRH, an international building materials group with extensive holdings in Europe and North America. Oldcastle had sales last year of $2.5 billion.
"This was the hardest decision our family has ever made," said Mario Segale, president of M.A. Segale. "Although we didn't set out to sell the company, Oldcastle approached us with an opportunity for our company to continue to grow and for our people to participate in that opportunity."
M.A. Segale was founded by Mario Segale in 1952 and incorporated in 1960.
