Nabisco Sells Kent-Based Plush Pippin Frozen-Pie Unit

BROWNSBURG, Ind. - Nabisco Holdings has sold its Kent-based Plush Pippin frozen-pie unit to George Weston Ltd.'s Maplehurst Bakeries unit. Terms weren't disclosed.

Maplehurst Bakeries, based in Brownsburg, is one of the nation's largest suppliers of frozen baked goods to supermarket bakeries. Plush Pippin had about $40 million in annual sales.

Nabisco, based in Parsippany, N.J., has been looking for ways to cut its product lines.
