`Dilbert' Comic Strip To Become Upn TV Series

LOS ANGELES - "Dilbert," the comic strip that pokes fun at the corporate world, is coming to television as an animated series.

"Dilbert" creator Scott Adams and producer Larry Charles ("Seinfeld") will serve as executive producers for the UPN series, set to debut in the 1998-99 season, the network said.

"The readers have been begging me to bring it to TV," Adams said.

Along with hapless engineer Dilbert, the series will feature Dogbert, Wally, the Boss and other characters from the strip, which is widely syndicated to newspapers.
