Seattle U.'S Hardy Adds Player Of Year Award
Tom Hardy, a senior defender from Seattle University, added another national award yesterday when he was named NAIA player of the year by the National Soccer Association of America.
Hardy, a graduate of Seattle's Roosevelt High School, will receive the award tonight at the Umbro Elite Dinner in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Hardy was voted player of the year by the NAIA in December after leading Seattle U. to its first national title. He also was named the national tournament's most valuable player.
He shut down some of nation's top NAIA scorers in the tournament and added a goal in Seattle U's semifinal overtime victory. He scored eight goals during the regular season. Last year, Hardy was a third-team NAIA All-American.
