Home Depot Is Evacuated In Everett; 17 Treated

EVERETT - Five people were sent to the hospital last night after being evacuated from the Home Depot store.

Customers complained of burning eyes and a sour taste in their mouths, prompting the warehouse-store manager to call the Fire Department and evacuate about 50 people from the store.

The Fire Department treated 17 people; five were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons. A hazardous-materials team investigated but could not determine the cause of the irritation.
