Q: I've watched Dean Johnson on "Hometime" for several years and have always wondered if he's married to any of his co-hosts past or present.

A: Johnson, producer and co-host of the do-it-yourself home repair show, is the father of two and is married to his high-school sweetheart, Kathi. Former actress model Robin Hartl has been his co-host since 1993. She and her husband, Richard, are currently renovating their Minneapolis house. "Hometime" begins a new season on public television in January.

Q: I just watched the TV production of "Cinderella." Could you tell me something about Paolo Montalban? Is he related to Ricardo? He has a wonderful voice, he's good looking and can act. I was impressed.

A: Although he has a famous last name, Paolo Montalban is no kin to "Fantasy Island's" Ricardo. He's a newcomer to TV, but has appeared in the national touring companies of several musical productions, including "Man of La Mancha," "Aladdin," "Godspell" and "Kiss Me Kate." Right before he landed the role of the Prince in the "Wonderful World of Disney's" "Cinderella" remake, he was appearing on Broadway in "The King and I." Paolo was born in the Philippines, moved to New York and, at age 4, entered the Lincoln Square Academy, which specializes in the arts. He plays piano, violin, saxophone, bassoon, flute and piccolo. He went to Rutgers University on an academic scholarship at age 15 and graduated in 1993.

Q: I am a big fan of the new show "South Park" on Comedy Central. Lately, there have been no new episodes. Can you give an explanation?

A: The for-adults cartoon about a group of foul-mouthed fourth-graders was a summer premiere on Comedy Central. Currently in reruns, the show's next new entry will be the holiday episode, "Spirit of Christmas," scheduled Dec. 17. More weekly installments of "South Park" are probably on the way, too. The show just won a CableACE award as top animated cable program, beating out "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist," "Kablam!" and "Johnny Bravo."

Q: Is Tom Snyder married? He looks like a husband to me.

A: Snyder, host of CBS' the Late Late Show, is an ex-husband, currently a bachelor.

Clarification: Regarding last week's item about Keith Olbermann, host of "The Big Show": An MSNBC spokesperson phoned to say that Olbermann doesn't drive a car because of a medical condition that affects his depth perception.
