GENEVA - Geneva police said yesterday they had arrested a Swiss man on suspicion of having taken part in an alleged plan to kidnap Athina Onassis Roussel, the second arrest since the plot was made public earlier this month.
The 36-year-old man was arrested Monday in Geneva upon his return from the United States, according to police spokesman Jacques Volery.
He declined to give further details about the suspect's involvement in the alleged plot to kidnap Athina, sole heir of Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis.
The 12-year-old, whose fortune is estimated at $3 billion, lives with her French father Thierry Roussel, Swedish stepmother and the couple's three children in Vaud canton near Lausanne.

Former opium warlord moved to Burma military compound
CHIANG MAI, Thailand - Former opium warlord Khun Sa has moved to a military compound after claims by the Burmese government that U.S. officials were trying to nab him, Thai narcotics officers and sources close to Khun Sa said today.
Khun Sa, who surrendered to Burmese troops in January 1996, is wanted by the United States, where he has been indicted on various counts of drug trafficking.
But the Burmese government refused to extradite Khun Sa after his surrender, saying it would deal with him under Burmese law.
Khun Sa used to command more than 20,000 guerrillas and portrayed himself as a freedom fighter, but international drug agencies accused him of using his troops to protect his heroin business in the Golden Triangle.
