Bothell City Council Raises Its Pay

BOTHELL - The City Council has approved pay raises for itself and the appointed mayor.

Council members voted 4-3 Monday to double council salaries, to $500 a month. The mayor will get $700 a month, up from $500.

The increases will go into effect for all terms starting in January. Council members elected on Tuesday's ballot, therefore, are eligible to receive the higher pay.

However, those whose terms did not expire this year will continue to receive the lower monthly salary. Their raises would go into effect only after winning re-election.
