Nike's Child-Care Director Investigated In Porn Case
BEAVERTON, Ore. - Nike's ex-director of child care is under investigation for child pornography found on a computer she brought to work, authorities say.
The maker of shoes and sportswear also announced yesterday that the woman had left her job Monday. Company officials declined to say whether the center's director, hired in June 1996, had resigned or was fired.
Neither Nike or the Washington County Sheriff's Office has released her name.
"We have absolutely no reason to believe the material involves any children of Nike employees," Nike spokesman Lee Weinstein said.
A Nike computer technician who was checking out the computer for the director discovered the explicit materials and notified
supervisors.
