Ct Sets Annexation Workshops

EVERETT - Community Transit has scheduled its first round of public workshops for residents in the Silver Firs, Eastmont and Tulalip Reservation areas, where voters recently chose to annex into CT's taxing district.

CT seeks input from residents before it decides how to expand service into those areas. A second round of workshops will take place in the spring, after agency planners create proposals. The new service could be in place by next fall.

The scheduled workshops are:

-- Silver Firs Elementary School, 5909 146th Place S.E. Two will take place, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room E-10 and 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria.

-- In the Eastmont area, the first workshop will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 10 at Jefferson Elementary School, 2500 Cadet Way, with another from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Eisenhower Middle School, 10200 25th St. S.E.

-- On the Tulalip Reservation, the first will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Tulalip Boys & Girls Club, 7707 36th Ave. N.W., with another set for 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Kenny Moses Building, 6700 Totem Beach Road.

Residents unable to attend may call CT's hotline, 425-348-2335, to give comments and ideas about future bus service in those areas.
