Statue To Be Dedicated Today

LA PUSH, Clallam County- A statue honoring three Coast Guardsmen who died in February in a rescue attempt off the Olympic Peninsula will be dedicated today at Coast Guard Station Quillayute River here.

The statue honors Seaman Clinton Miniken, 22, of Snohomish; Petty Officer 2nd Class David A. Bosley, 36, of Coronado, Colo.; and Petty Officer 3rd Class Matthew E. Schlimme, 24, of Whitewater, Mo.

The three were trying to rescue a sailboat when their rescue boat capsized. The sailboat's two occupants were saved by a helicopter before the boat ran aground on the rocks.
