Microsoft Building Again; New Campus Called Troon
REDMOND
Microsoft hasn't completed its three-building Augusta office complex beside Highway 520, but it's building again nearby.
Contractors have broken ground on Troon, which at six stories will have the two tallest buildings on the company's 260-acre main campus. When the 450,000-square-foot complex opens late next year or early 1999, it will house up to 1,900 employees.
Troon lies south of Augusta on Northeast 31st Street between 156th Avenue Northeast and Highway 520. Microsoft's new developments are named after famous golf courses.
More than 2,400 people will work in the 500,000-square-foot Augusta complex, set to open sometime between December and March. About 9,500 people work in 38 buildings on the main campus and the nearby Redmond West campus.
