Sonics' Kemp Uninjured After Single-Car Accident
Shawn Kemp, the power forward whose future with the Seattle Sonics is unclear, ran into a fire hydrant in a single-car accident over the weekend in Beverly Hills, Calif., Sgt. John Edmundson of the Beverly Hills Police Department said.
Kemp lost control of a rented 1997 Jaguar in a residential area of the posh Los Angeles suburb at about 2 a.m. Saturday, police said. Kemp passed a field sobriety test and was not injured, according to the accident report.
Police were investigating for a possible infraction such as speeding or reckless driving, Edmundson said. Kemp, who was uninjured, had not been cited.
