Suspicions Confirmed: Body Is That Of Jensen
WOODINVILLE
The news came as no surprise at midafternoon yesterday that the body of a partly clothed woman found Saturday evening near railroad tracks was that of the missing Arlene Jensen.
"We had a feeling that this was the case," said her son, David.
The King County medical examiner confirmed through dental records that the body was that of the 53-year-old seamstress, who was last seen May 26. The cause or time of death was not released.
Jensen's body was found partly hidden in tall grass near Woodinville-Redmond Road and Northeast 145th Street, about a mile from her condominium in the unincorporated Kingsgate area between Kirkland and Woodinville. The body had been originally sighted by a passenger on the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train, which had made a short stop.
"The good news is we found her," said David Jensen, who said the family has coped by staying busy providing detectives with information and, more recently, making memorial-service plans, which he hopes will be this weekend.
Most of Arlene Jensen's family live in the Puget Sound area. Her mother flew in from Connecticut yesterday.
The family hopes the discovery of Jensen's body will provide more clues that will lead detectives to the person or persons responsible for her death.
Although there were no signs of a struggle inside her condominium, small amounts of blood were found on a pillow. Police have not said whether there are suspects.
King County Police have yet to release details of the apparent homicide. That Jensen's body was dumped down a grassy embankment and left has been hard on the family, David Jensen said.
"She absolutely didn't deserve that," he said. "That's the part that tears me up."
