Whidbey Island Man, 51, Shot
WHIDBEY ISLAND - A 51-year-old man was in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle today after being shot in the chest at his home near Silver Lake.
When James T. Anderson called 911 about 5:30 p.m., he said he'd been shot while outside hanging clothes in his yard, according to Jan Smith, spokeswoman for Island County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies found and arrested a man armed with a handgun about 40 feet into the woods near Anderson's house north of Oak Harbor, Smith said. The suspect, a 67-year-old Tacoma man, is being held in Island County Jail.
