Timothy Mcveigh -- Open Letter To The President
As commander-in-chief, I urge that you take action to revoke the Bronze Star awarded to Timothy McVeigh and to change his status of discharge to dishonorable. This is because in blowing up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, April 19, 1995, McVeigh killed 168 men, women and children, injured many others and did millions of dollars in property damage. Having now been convicted of killing eight federal employees and given the death sentence, McVeigh has been proven to be not only a terrorist, but a traitor to these United States of America.
McVeigh's hideous crime was enabled largely by experience he gained as a soldier. By using that knowledge and experience to attack his own country, McVeigh has dishonored the military service and provided sufficient justification to revoke the Bronze Star and all other honors he received while in the military.
This act will set a precedent of moral responsibility. In the future, it may also discourage others from using their military training in a perverted way to commit acts of terrorism against the U.S.
