Ct To Get New Commuter Service
LYNNWOOD - Starting today, a new contractor will operate Community Transit's commuter service into King County. There will be no change in service.
Grosvenor Bus Lines, based in San Francisco, is taking over operations from Ryder/ATE, which has provided CT's commuter service since 1986. The contract change resulted from a competitive-bid process required by law. CT hired an outside consultant and put together an evaluation team composed of staff members from CT, Metro and Pierce Transit before choosing Grosvenor from among five proposals submitted.
CT's five-year contract with Grosvenor is for $31.8 million. Grosvenor, which has hired most of the bus drivers now on CT's commuter routes, will operate out of CT's Kasch Park base near Paine Field.
CT has 21 local routes, 39 commuter routes, two community-based CONNECT services, and a Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) service. For information, call CT at 800-562-1375.
