Expansion Takes Qfc To Oregon For First Time
BELLEVUE - Quality Food Centers will open its first supermarkets in Oregon next year when it completes construction of two new QFC's in Portland.
The Bellevue-based chain also announced yesterday it will build two new stores near Olympia and is acquiring a Reed's Super Valu store in Port Hadlock on the Olympic Peninsula.
QFC representatives said construction is set to start May 28 on a 36,000-square-foot store at the Bethany Village Center residential and retail development in Portland. The company also plans to build a 30,000-square-foot QFC in the West Hills Plaza shopping center west of downtown Portland.
The four stores are scheduled to open in early 1998.
