Investigators Reach Wreckage Of Capsized Coast Guard Boat

LA PUSH, Clallam County - Investigators reached the wreckage yesterday of the Coast Guard lifeboat that capsized during a rescue mission last week, killing three crew members.

The engineering expert, Chief Warrant Officer J.C. Klinger, reached the boat, wedged between cliffs on an isolated and rocky island off La Push.

Seaman Clinton Miniken, 22, Petty Officer 2nd Class David Bosley, 36, and Petty Officer 3rd Class Matthew Schlimme, 24, were killed on their way to answer the distress call of a sailboat that was drifting toward the rocks near La Push.

Seaman Apprentice Benjamin Wingo, 19, was the sole survivor of the accident.
