First Air Force One To Open For Public Tours This Month
SEATTLE - The Boeing-built jet that carried Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon around the world opens to the public for walk-through tours, beginning Oct. 18 at the Museum of Flight.
The jet, the first used by a president, will feature exhibits that highlight the passengers and missions that made it famous while serving as Air Force One.
Guided tours, at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. daily, will cost $5. Self-guided tours from 11:30 a.m. to closing will be free with museum admission.
The 707, built at Renton in 1959, will be on permanent display at the museum, 9404 E. Marginal Way S.
