Bainbridge Man's Body Found In Olympic National Park
BRINNON, Jefferson County - A Bainbridge Island man overdue from a hike was found dead yesterday in Olympic National Park.
Searchers found the body of Arne Reinert, 40, in an off-trail area near Mount Cruiser in the southeast section of the park, at an elevation of about 5,300 feet, park spokeswoman Barb Maynes said.
Reinert apparently fell to his death, Maynes said. His body was to be removed by helicopter.
Reinert left last Saturday for what was supposed to be a three-day back-country trip.
Family members notified park officials when he failed to return home by late Tuesday.
