July Home Sales In Puget Sound Increase Slightly At 2.8 Percent
Despite expectations of a summer slowdown, Puget Sound home sales remained solid last month, according to figures released by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service.
Agents in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties said pending sales (homes on which offers were made but sales had not yet closed) totaled 3,315, up 2.8 percent from July a year ago.
The actual number of homes sold last month was 3,041, compared with 3,037 in July 1995.
New listings totaled 6,873, up from 6,287 in June.
Listings in the three-county region totalled 17,292 last month, up 1,268 from July 1995.
Median sale prices on homes sold were up slightly at in July compared with a year ago.
The median price for home sales area-wide was $163,000, up 5.1 percent from July 1995.
In King County, the median sale price in July was $169,950.
Homes in Snohomish County sold at a median price of $151,150, and in Pierce County at a median price of $140,000.
