Northwest -- Seadog Losing Streak Reaches Nine
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Armando Valdivia's goal put Seattle ahead 1-0 less than five minutes into the game, but the SeaDogs didn't score again and lost 5-1 to the Sacramento Knights.
The defeat, at Arco Arena last night, was the ninth straight for the SeaDogs (1-10) of the Continental Indoor Soccer League.
Sacramento set a club record for fewest goals allowed in a regular-season game. Jeff Alcala scored two goals and assisted on one, and Jon Parry extended his consecutive-game scoring streak to 36 with a goal for the Knights.
Seattle outshot Sacramento 28-21.

-- Third-seeded Amy Chiminello of Melrose, Mass., beat unseeded Tracee Lee of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, 6-2, 1-6, 6-1 in the women's singles finals of the Pacific Northwest Tennis Championships at Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club. Chiminello upset No. 1 Iwalani McCalla 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals.
Pat Crow of Long Beach, Calif., beat Tony Bujan of Palm Desert 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) in the men's singles final.
Tacoma's Leona and Ales Matzenauer reached the finals in mixed doubles before losing 6-2, 6-3 to McCalla and Scott Hansen.
